Peaches and Berries Tart with Patchwork Linzer Crust

Yum Yum.... We have peaches, blackberries and raspberries nestled between two layers of hazelnut & almond linzer crust... what more could you ask for? I'd never heard of a "patchwork" crust before. The basic concept involves randomly placing 3" strips of rolled dough over the top of the tart. It certainly has a unique appearance, though I think I prefer a traditional lattice top to the patchwork top.

Angie's Thanksgiving Triumph

Here is my first contribution to the Edibles and Threadables BLOG. I attempted a cheesecake for the first time for Thanksgiving. It actually turned out! I got the recipe for this pumpkin cheesecake from my mother-in-law and we ate it for Thankgiving dessert with my family up at our cabin. Yum!

Jenn's week-end baking

I FINALLY got out my krumkake and rosette irons and am thrilled to have some fun goodies to bring to our Thanksgiving meal! I might have to make a more regular habit out of making krumkake... so much fun and much easier than I expected. The rosette, on the other hand, were putsy and difficult to get just right. I've happily packed that device away until next year.
As you know, I have a hang-up for going through entire cookbooks at a time. I'm presently working my way through a GINORMOUS pies and tarts cookbook. This week-end was the Mango Black & Blue (blackberry & blueberry) Pie pictured above. Seriously, if anyone is EVER in the mood for a slice of pie... you know where to come!

Now, I don't want to be the only one posting on this blog....LADIES!

Welcome to Edibles & Threadibles

Here it is, the first post! We've talked about doing this for sometime! There's a group of us who thoroughly enjoy everything from cooking, knitting, beading, baking.... the list goes on and on. Hopefully, this blog will be a way for us to play Show And Tell and keep a fun record of some of our favorite creative and culinary endeavors.
